"High School Tips"
by Kid.
For those who are going to be a High School Student this year, these are my own tips that
I'm going recommend to you hahaha!
1. Don't easily TRUST a person! (specially if you're a transferee)
I know today in our society, you can't seem to find a TRUE & LOYAL friend. Some friends has a pleasing attitude at first but you'll always see their true identity when your friendship lasts. You never know what will happen next. You should always be an observer and you need to get some time to know more about the person you're dealing with.
(I've been friends with a lot of different people, believe me. When it comes to lies, always remember "The most dangerous ones are those people who think they are telling the truth"
This is real, I can site an example but nah. Hahaha.
2. IGNORE people who hates you.
Just do whatever they want to, and probably they'll be tired of what they're doing. If they got carried away or you can't really handle what they are doing I guess you really need help from your teachers or guidance counselors to handle what they did.
"Don't do revenge" for me that's the right thing to do. Plus let KARMA do the work! Besides you can live without them!
3. Be ACTIVE!
You should try to participate on clubs or other school activities! This will make you even more confident! I've been observing a lot but students who are active and participating on clubs/activities and specially member of the Student Council in School are more confident in going to school than ordinary students because they are usually facing a lot of people special campaigns on school, volunteering to do some intermission when there's an event something like those activities. They developed a really good confidence in facing anyone or anything!
4. Be on TIME! Have a good ATTENDANCE!
You should always manage your time! Don't proud because you're late or even think you are super cool because you are one. Haha. I got a lot of consequences because I always arrive late.
(Andyan na yung papupulutin ng basura, mag f-flag ceremony mag-isa & the worst is you'll have to miss 30 mins of your first period class) Not only those consequences! You should also present an "Excuse Letter" right after you were absent the next day.
(I had record of 22 absents & I was 8 times late, Well the monitor was a teacher's pet that's why lol , I got a lil bit of a problem enrolling myself, I attended a half-day symposium about why you should always be on time & also a lot of things before I got my Good Moral Certificate for that Year.)
I swear on that moment only learned the importance of an "Excuse Letter". Hahaha.
5. "Always prepare when there's an upcoming TEST"
You really need to prepare! In our curriculum last year "Short Quizzes" and "Long Quizzes" really matters. It'll really make a great difference to your grade besides the Periodic Test.
(Na-realize namin toh nung nagka alert level yung "Mayon Volcano", our school was one of the place they used for evacuation center for the people near the perimeter danger zone, we had classes for only M-W-F and T-Th-S. Everyday we have short quizzes for about 10 items right after our lesson.
You guys should always prepare for one! You never know! Specially those schools near the
"fault thingy" in Manila let's be prepared, at least you're still getting the hang of your lessons if your prepare!

6. "Terror Teachers"
In every year.there's always a terror teacher. (Like, Di na talaga yan mawawala, consider it a miracle if walang terror sainyo lol.jk) He/She doesn't bite or do things physically. I bet he/she wants a good class that's why he/she is acting like that! The best advice that I can give is you should study well on his/her subject. I bet it can help you develop a good relationship between him/her. She'll always remember you if you're doing well! (Wag nyo na bigyan like kung ano-ano because the greatest one you can give is to be active and you participate daily in her class, right? It's cheaper plus you'll earn a good grade, you'll feel proud also because you worked for that)
7. Listen to your teacher Attentively!
Well, you should always listen! You never know after discussing some lessons, he/she might give a test! So it's really good to listen. Haha!
8. Plan things out/ Make a to-do-list!

8. Plan things out/ Make a to-do-list!
This is really a BIG help!(based on my experiences) Specially when it's hell week! You need to prioritize those important things. I usually plan a lot on my "Total Girl School Planner" (it's only P195 on National Book Store or BookSale) You can put on the things you're looking forward to do! You should try to motivating yourself with a reward when you get to everything on your list.
9. "Don't be afraid to say NO"
It's really OK to say NO when you're friend(s) asks you to go out and you have a test in the morning.
You can also find some other time to go out.
10. "You need to have your own Study Habit"
If you are aiming for honors, or high grades; You need to have your own study habit Like, Study alone, create your perfect study area, snack healthy while studying, take a break, put yourself to the test or get enough sleep before the day! This will help you with your goals.
