"VSCO Tutorials"
featuring the Filter SE3.
So, Hi guys! This is my first "Vsco Tutorial" featuring the SE3 filter. I was using this filter for about two months.(January-February) It creates that black-ish & darker effect for my photos.
For Ootd:
First, that you should always consider is the photo you'll going to edit.
For some people who takes Basic ootd's or Black & white outfits, I recommend this filter because it'll totally bring out the color of your outfit (black&white). But if you want it lighter, you can also adjust it in the settings like this:
The photo was taken during our trip to the grocery store, as you can see the floor was the background of the photo & there's enough light.
I applied the SE3 filter & it'll look like this ..
See the changes? The hair turned much more darker than before, also the white color!
Just pick out a good background for your ootd, But for my opinion , don't use the SE3 filter when you took a pic on a unfinished wall like (hollow blocked walls) But you can do it on a gray colored-plain wall. But the best ones are the light-colored backgrounds.
For Places:
There's nothing wrong in taking pictures on a sunny day & using the SE3 filter. But if you want a truly dark place the best photo you should take is when it's going to rain or when gray clouds are covering the sky. I consider it the best because you wouldn't have to adjust the exposure level of your picture thru vscocam because it'll make the photo sort of a low quality.
This photo was taken around 3:00 in the afternoon. It kinda look dark because I was inside the car when I took this. And then I applied the SE3
I changed a little bit of the setting also,
Exposure - +1
Contrast - -1
Sharpen - +2
The Sharpen Settings is really important, you can make your photos even more beautiful by using it, but you should also take note that too much of that will make your photo ugly.
I use this often but I apply the ranges +1 to +5 only.
Another example is this:
I took this photo around 6pm in the Philippines. This is probably what I recommend to you guys, Inorder to have darker feeds, you should also think dark. You should consider everything before taking a picture for your feed.
As I applied the SE3 filter with the following settings:
Exposure +1
Contrast -1
Sharpen +2
The sky was lighter because if the exposure that I made, and also the contrast. But you can always discover a new effect by trying a different range of the exposure, contrast & sharpen.
To these type of pictures
The sun usually affects the light here, but if you're an iPad, iPhone or iPod user you must upgrade to iOs 8 because the new camera is super helpful.
You also need to update your Vscocam to have the latest news & to know what they've changed.
This is also super helpful in taking great pictures, you can see this by tapping two fingers at the same time while taking a picture.
(Sorry it was blurry bc I took it on a screen shot hehe 😅)
Example shots I took using SE3:
